  1. The Rendezvous allows connection to a SpeedShare Server by name. This is helpful when you don't know the TCP/IP address of the server, or it changes, which is the case for most dialup Internet connections.

When a connection is made via the Rendezvous, the SpeedShare Client first connects with the Rendezvous. The SpeedShare Client supplies the name of the SpeedShare Server, and the Rendezvous returns the current TCP/IP address of that server. Then the SpeedShare Client connects directly to the SpeedShare Server, using the TCP/IP address supplied by the Rendezvous.

  5. If you know the TCP/IP address (or the Internet name) of the SpeedShare Server, click TCP/IP Address and enter it directly.
